Sharing on Pandora

Pandora will share to your Pandora profile by default. If your profile is public, Pandora will also share to your followers' music feeds. Your Pandora Profile will need to be public if you want to share a playlist with someone else.

How do shared stations work?

Shared stations are stations created by other Pandora listeners.

If you share a station with someone else, all of your Thumbs feedback and updates for that station will carry over to that person's account.

If the person you shared the station with gives a Thumbs Up or Down to a song, they'll be asked whether they want to make this station their own. If they say yes, then the station will no longer be a shared station, and they will be able to customize the copied station from their account. However, your original station will not be modified as a result.

How do I share a playlist?

While you can share a playlist with another listener regardless of their subscription level, you'll need to make sure that your Pandora profile is set to be Public first.

Sharing playlists from a mobile device

From My Collection, find the playlist you'd like to share or sort your collection by Playlists. Next, tap the share icon next to the Play button and select your preferred sharing medium.

Sharing playlists from our website

You can use the following steps to share your curated and auto-generated playlists with friends on Premium.

From My Collection tap the name of the playlist you wish to share. Then, from your playlist's backstage page, tap the share icon next to the Play button.

How to share other content from an iOS or Android Device

The easiest way share a song, station, album, artist or podcast is to do a search (even if it's already a part of your collection).

Tap the name of the song/station/album/artist/podcast and tap Share.

If you're sharing an artist, the share icon can be found in the upper right hand corner of the backstage page.

From here, you'll be able to share your content either through a text message, through social media, or via email.

Note: What content you're able to share may depend on your subscription level.

How to share a station from the Web

You can easily share content from our website to X (formerly Twitter) or by copying a direct link.

From the Now Playing screen:

  1. Hover over the album art or click the three dots (•••) next to the track.
  2. Select Share.
  3. Choose to post to X (formerly Twitter) or select Copy Link to share it anywhere.

From an Artist or Song Backstage page:

  • Click the Share button below the album art and choose your preferred sharing option.

Note: Sharing to Instagram Stories or Snapchat is only available on mobile devices.

Sharing and Listening on Instagram

You can share your favorite Pandora content to Instagram Stories and listen to what others share with you.

To share on Instagram Stories:

  1. Open Pandora on your mobile device.
  2. Select the song, album, station, playlist, or podcast.
    • You can also use the Now Playing screen by clicking on the three dots (•••) to access the Share button.
  3. Tap Share, then choose Instagram Stories.

Instagram will open with your content ready to post. Add text, stickers, or effects, then share it your way.

Note: Anyone who views your Instagram story can listen to the shared content, even if they’re not a Pandora subscriber.

To listen from Instagram:

  1. Tap Play on Pandora from a Story.
  2. You’ll be taken to Pandora to start listening (or download it if needed).

What happens next will depend on your subscription level:

  • Premium users can listen instantly.
  • Free and Plus users will be prompted to watch a short ad to unlock on-demand playback.
  • Stations are available to all users right away.

Sharing and Listening on Snapchat

You can share songs from Pandora directly to Snapchat and easily listen to tracks your friends send you.

Sharing on Snapchat

Before you start, make sure you have the latest versions of both Pandora and Snapchat installed on your mobile device.

  1. Open Pandora and go to the Now Playing screen.
  2. Scroll through your listening history to find the track you want to share.
  3. Tap the caret (down arrow) beneath the track.
  4. Tap the Share icon and select Share on Snapchat.

Snapchat will open automatically with a song card ready to share. You can customize your Snap with text, stickers, or other creative tools before sending it.

Note: Friends don’t need a Pandora subscription to listen. They may be prompted to watch a short ad to unlock on-demand playback.

Listening to a Snapchat share

  1. Open the Snap your friend sent.
  2. Swipe up and tap the attachment.

You’ll be prompted to open Pandora (or install it if you don’t have it yet). What happens next will depend on your subscription level:

  • Premium subscribers will be able to listen to the track right away.
  • Free listeners and Plus subscribers will be prompted to watch an advertisement, after which they'll receive Premium access and be able to listen to that track on-demand. Rest assured that you won't be charged at the end of your complimentary session.
