Thumbs


Pandora's goal is to only play music you love. Clicking "thumbs-up" tells Pandora "you like this track" and helps to bring in more tracks like it to your station. Clicking "thumbs down" tells us not to play this track on that particular station.

 

Keep in mind, Thumbs are station specific, so please feel free to Thumb up and down accordingly. Giving a Thumb rating on one station will not affect any of your other stations.

 

This also means, you can use Thumbs to craft the sound you are trying to achieve and vary the playlists from station to station. For example, you might want to give a song you like a Thumb down if you think it will bring in a certain type of music you'd prefer to not have on that station. Don't be afraid to rate songs – you can always edit your stations later if you don't like the direction your station is going or if you'd like to mix things up.

On a computer:

To remove a Thumb rating, you will need to go into that station on a computer and edit it.


To find your station details, select My Profile from the list directly above your station list and album art.


Once you are in your profile, select Stations from the list on the left. You can then click on the name of the station you want to edit.


To remove a seed or thumb rating, simply click on the X listed to the right of the desired artist or track. To add seeds, select the Add button.


To give a thumb to a song that has a previously played, scroll your mouse over the music player and you'll see an arrow on the left side pop up. Click on it to review the songs that have previously played in your current listening session. When you find the song you're looking for, scroll your mouse over the artwork and the two thumbs will appear. You can then click on the thumb that you want to give to that song.

On iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPhone Touch):

If you've accidentally given a track the wrong Thumb rating during your current listening session, all you need to do is un-thumb it. From the Now Playing screen, swipe the album art from left to right until you see the track you're looking for, and tap the highlighted Thumb icon.


If this happened in a previous session, you'll need to visit the station details to make that change.


Here's how to edit Thumbs in that station's details:


• First, visit your Stations list


• Swipe the name of the station you'd like to edit right to left


• Tap on the Thumb icon


If the track was thumbed recently, swipe through the mini-album art until you see the track and tap the highlighted Thumb.


If the track was thumbed before the current listening session, tap the numbered Thumbs up or down icons, locate the thumbed track, swipe the track name from right to left and tap Delete.

On Android:

If you've accidentally given a track the wrong Thumb rating during your current listening session, all you need to do is un-thumb it. From the Now Playing screen, swipe the album art from left to right until you see the track you're looking for, and tap the highlighted Thumb icon.


If this happened in a previous session, you'll need to visit the station details to make that change.


From the Station List, you can find Station Details for the currently playing station by tapping the three dots next to the station name. To edit your other stations, touch and hold the station name until a context menu appears, then select Station Details. If the track was thumbed recently, swipe through the mini-album art until you see the track and tap the highlighted Thumb.


If the track was thumbed before the current listening session, you can simply tap the numbered Thumbs up or down icons, locate the thumbed track, tap the three dots to the right of the track name and select "Remove Track."
