Royalties and Spins

How do I receive Royalties?
Why are my royalties not available on the AMP dashboard?
Why does my data not match SoundExchange?
Who can I speak with if my royalties from Pandora do not fall in line with the number of spins I am getting on the service?

How do I receive Royalties? There are two types of royalties for music played on streaming websites such as Pandora: performance royalties (for the performers of the music) and publishing royalties (for the writers/owners of the music).
Pandora pays statutory performance royalties to SoundExchange, as well as publishing royalties to ASCAP, SESAC, and BMI.

Many musicians are unfamiliar with SoundExchange, so please make sure you register here to collect your portion of royalties paid by Pandora as well as other companies that stream music or comedy.

Similarly, songwriters collect their publishing royalties from ASCAP, SESAC, or BMI. They are negotiated separately by all legal music services including Pandora.

Why are my royalties not available on the Pandora AMP dashboard? Digital royalties are fees that digital radio services—like Pandora—are required by law to pay for streaming music. Pandora and other digital radio services pay these royalties to SoundExchange, which is the designated performance rights organization responsible for accounting for and distributing royalty payments to artists and the sound recording rights holders.
